Reporting to the Corporate Projects and Architecture Manager, the Business Architect works closely with internal business and IT stakeholders to develop an integrated view of the enterprise, using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques. The Business Architect aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services, partners and suppliers, organization, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of business and/or IT experience with emphasis on strategy formulation, business performance/analytics, and program management.
  • Experience translating business ideas into automated solutions. 
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and recommending improvements to the strategic, core, and support processes of the business to support strategic and operational goals. 
  • Experience acting as a liaison to convey information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business.
  • Experience using model-based representations to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
  • Experience with project management methodologies. 
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Knowledge of insurance industry best practices. 
  • Knowledge of lending industry best practices. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience using TOGAF methodology, is an asset. 
  • Knowledge of modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques, is an asset. 
  • Knowledge of organization change management, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, is an asset.  
  • Ability to communicate verbally in both official languages (French and English), is an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.

SALARY: $82,348 to $110,547 per annum
