Under the general direction of the Software Operations Lead, will be primarily responsible for the administration and operational support of the enterprise software estate. Will provide software support and will assist with contract administration and the asset management lifecycle of software assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with publishers and vendors, as it relates to software, making inquiries, developing an understanding of licensing or contractual requirements and changes on an on-going basis.
  • Assist in the maintenance and configuration of software licensing sites and portals.
  • Responsible for the administration of software contracts and assist with establishing vendor management processes between the publisher, vendor and Manitoba Hydro including scheduling and leading regular status meetings.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of Software SharePoint sites.
  • Responsible for enforcing the asset management lifecycle software assets.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and configuration of Software Asset Management (SAM) in ServiceNow.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of software procedures and process documentation.
  • Collect and perform analysis of corporate and divisional software that is captured via metering tools for licensing compliance, licensing harvesting, and usage reports.
  • Assist with processing client software requests and the on-boarding of software which may include working requesters to understand the software use and requirements.
  • Responsible for the acquisition process regarding items on the end point computing software list while working with Vendor Management.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations for new products, future upgrades, and security patch requirements for software on the end point computing software list.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and support of license metering tools.
  • Participate in publisher and Manitoba Hydro initiated software audits.
  • Provide subject matter expert support and consulting services for support staff and project teams for end point computing software.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing plus a minimum of three years related Software Support or technical support experience;
  • OR
  • A two-year diploma in Computer Technology from an institute of recognized standing plus a minimum of five years related Software Support or technical support experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to keep up to date with current technology such as Windows based hardware & software.
  • Demonstrated experience with supporting the lifecycle management of end point computing software.
  • Possess an understanding of governance, compliance, and security standards for software.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint design, collaboration, and document life cycle management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience with coordinating changes for software related upgrades and/or implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience with collaborating on and setting standards for end point computing software.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a liaison between Manitoba Hydro and vendors and/or publishers.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge of personal computer technology.
  • Experience coordinating or participating in small projects or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software asset management lifecycles.
  • Familiar with SAP Materials Management module and Supply Chain Procurement processes.
  • Proficient in using ServiceNow for Software Asset Management, Change and Incident Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with the primary focus being customer service.
  • Proficient in creating and analyzing reports for software compliance, related to the collection and analysis of data from multiple sources
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret business problems and recommend comprehensive solutions.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $37.94-$52.52 Hourly, $72,703.54-$100,638.98 Annually
